If you really want to go far, wake up, take responsibility, don’t sell your future to a careless relationship

‭Luke 15:11-19 KJV‬ — And he said, A certain man had two sons: [12] and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. [13] And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

[14] And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. [15] And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. [16] And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

[17] And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! [18] I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, [19] and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

We all make mistakes, but God gives us a second chance. When you mess up your potential, don’t sell your future to a careless relationship.

Our story from Luke 15 is about a young man in search of independence and pleasure, in a quest to find freedom and self assertion, who went to his father to request for the portion of goods that falls to him (his inheritance). When his father obliged, he took the money and travelled to a far country.

There, he spent all his money on harlots and wasteful living; and in no time there was a famine in that land. He became so hungry that he joined himself to a citizen of that country, who send him to work feeding pigs.

Many of us after making one poor choice, continue to make more poor choices just to make it seem as though, we are okay. For how long can you pretend? The guy was struggling but he ended up making choices to at least manage; but he continued to struggle until the day he did three things, he;

  1. Woke up
  2. Took responsibility and
  3. Severed himself from a careless relationship

He knew that what he needed was not another fool like himself. He realised that he needed a more fatherly and senior coaching for life if he would receive back his colour and glory. Beloved, of your down today, wake up, take responsibility, and don’t sell your future to any careless relationship.

Even though your peers may understand you and speak your language, your father speaks the language of destiny! It’s not too late, you can wake and return to your father.

Our father is waiting for you. His arms are wide open and he is waiting to welcome you back home. Don’t die in the streets, dont die as nothing! There is space for you back home. There is a seat reserved for you at the table of sons and daughters. This is your time and now is the day to return home.

The very day the young man woke up, took responsibility for his silly actions, and resolved to return home; that very day, that very moment, that very hour, he regained his life and began to live again .

You can make the same decision and come home. Remember, you cannot come with all the baggage and excess load. There is no place for the street in the home. The rules and procedures at home are different. This is the day and the hour to begin to find and retrace your way back home!

Stay blessed
