I want to discuss in this post how to excel at your career as a child of God?

[2 Thessalonians 3:6‭-‬15 KJV] “Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.”

“For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:”

“Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat”

“For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.”

“And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.”

It is a disorderly behaviour to not work. Every one of us must either be in training or working.

One of the main doctrines we believe and hold dear as a church is a need for every one of us to find and hold a job. We believe that every one of God’s precious children must have a job, occupation, or business. None should be unemployed!

You must not even keep company with those who do not work. If you have friends who do not work, you must cut ties with them. You should not see them as enemies but you must cut ties with them.

It is a disorderly behaviour to not work. Every one of us must either be in training or working. That is the doctrine of the New Testament.

Therefore;

  1. As we lift the Holy oil of God, we are declaring success in the area of work, career, occupation, job, and business.
  2. As we lift the oil and our voices to pray, we wage war against anything that tries to fight you in the area of work.
  3. As we lift the oil, we release the grace of God upon you. We declare that the grace and blessings of God will come upon you for excellence and sustenance in the area of work.
  4. As we lift the oil receive patronage and speed in the things you do in the area of work.
  5. You will become a problem solver. Your presence at your workplace will turn to more. You will make an impact in the area of work.

If you are a student or apprentice, your work is studying and polishing up. You will excel and not fail! May the Lord be your helper from this moment forward.

We know that it is appointed unto man once to die and after death, the judgment; but while we wait, we must earn both a living and a giving; to live an honest life towards them that are without.

Every one of us must find a job or in training to get a job. You must either be in training or working. None should be idle; this is how we can reach the Lost.

[Ephesians 4:28 KJV] “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”

How to Excel at Your Career

There are three main ways to find something to do;

  1. To start your own business if you have the skill, capital, and the tenacity to press on
  2. To find a job as an employee or
  3. To invest your capital into some venture that is already working

Whichever way you choose to employ yourself must yield the dividends that will help you to live an honest life.

We train, work, retrain, and exert labour daily; so that we can

  1. Earn both a living and a giving. We work to be able to support both our households and the weak among us and the mission.
  2. Live an honest life towards them that are without. Men who don’t work mainly lie or steal; women who don’t work sleep around and gossip. We must all find a job or something to occupy us.
  3. Support the outreach effort of the church. We work to be able to finance the ministry of reconciliation to preach the word of reconciliation.

In any case, whatever endeavour that engages you, full time or part-time, you must know;

  1. Your job title
  2. Your job description
  3. Your appraisal benchmarks
  4. Your entitlements; the workman is worthy of his wages. You must have wages and entitlements.
  5. Your duty post
  6. Your line of reporting and taking instruction
  7. The code of conduct and ethics of your appointment

These are key things that will help you to function effectively and efficiently.

Remember to;

1. Obey your superiors in all things with singleness of heart and not as men-pleasers but as those who fear God.

2. Do whatever you do heartily; God will bless you.

[Colossians 3:22‭-‬24 KJV] “Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

I pray that none shall be idle!

Let us pray that anything challenging anyone of us in the area of work will be dominated and subdued now!

Let us pray that as many as are seeking jobs shall be favoured before this month ends!

Let us pray that each of us will see an increase and prosperity in all that we do.

Stay blessed!

Ask, Believe, and Work

May you step into that beautiful life that God has planned for you through these three master keys: Ask, Believe, and Work.Originally published at highcity.org

[et_pb_section][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text]

God has a beautiful life for you, but you must ask, belief, and work towards that beautiful life.

[Jeremiah 29:11‭-‬14 KJV] “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive”.

In this prophetic text, the Lord said: “I know the thoughts I think towards you; they are good thoughts, to bring you to an expected end.”

God has a great life for you, but read the text well, He said “You must go and ask Me for it. You shall call upon Me, you shall go and pray unto Me, then I will hear you”. You must call upon God; you must ask if you want that great life. You must visualize the life you want; allow the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you, and see it. You must pray for it. Ask for it. The Bible says you don’t receive and don’t have because you don’t ask for it. You must pray for it. You need to pray always for triumph. You must go and call upon God. Start today, start now, start here; ask for it and you shall have it.

You have got to believe. Whoever asks, must ask in faith. That is what James teaches. The Apostle taught that a man who doubts cannot receive anything from God. Believe! Keep believing! Believe when it makes sense, and believe when it does not make sense. Keep the faith, keep believing, and hope against hope as Abraham did. Don’t stop praying; don’t stop believing.

Finally, work towards what you are believing for. If you ask for a house, God may give you the house in the form of a good job. If you play around with the job, you are playing around with your house. Keep believing, keep trusting, keep working and you are getting there. Success comes through work, you have to work and work smart and intelligent.

The Lord assures us that when we pray He will bring us from captivity and turn our lives around. May you step into that beautiful life that God has planned for you through these three master keys: Ask, Believe, and Work.

Be blessed, I love you!

Kofi Simpe

Prayer:

Father, by Your Holy Spirit, reveal unto us the things you have planned for each of us. Help us to ask, believe, and work towards it in the name of Jesus Christ.

Serving the Lord; Every Member a Missionary.

Every member of the body of Christ is called to be a missionary to the world around us. We have been given the ministry and the word of reconciliation. Originally published at highcity.org

[2 Corinthians 5:13-21 KJV] “For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. [14] For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: [15] And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. [16] Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. [17] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”.

The Bible tells us that one died for all that all will live for the one who died for them. We are called to live for Christ and not for ourselves. Every member of the body of Christ is called to be a missionary to the world around us. We have been given the ministry and the word of reconciliation. We are called to serve Christ in missions.

To serve well in missions;

  1. Believe on he whom the Father has sent
  2. Worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth
  3. Come into His presence with singing to every appointed meeting
  4. Go into the world and preach the gospel, baptise converts, and teach the church
  5. Reach out to the fatherless, widows and the less privileged.

These are my simple tips to serve in missions or as a missionary in everyday life. May the Lord help us to simplify our lives and serve the Lord in everyday life.

It is important to;

  1. Dress well
  2. Put away childish things
  3. Work with your hands
  4. Pursue somthing:
  5. what can I do, how do I do it, what do I need, how do I get it, and I must run with might.
  6. Be open to all possibilities: hope for the best, plan for the worst, and in all things give thanks.

There is wisdom that will guide you through the season.

Believe on the son of the living God (John 1:12)

  1. Desire and relax in the presence of the living God (Psalm 84:2)
  2. Obeserve all church protocols (1 Timothy 3:15)
  3. Take heed, lest an evil heart forms in you (Hebrews 3:12)
  4. Even when riches increase, trust in the Lord who gives us all things to enjoy freely, and not in uncertain riches (1 Timothy 4:10)

Remember, there are four things that will enable you to rule indeed: 1 Samuel 16:18

  1. Right upbringing
  2. The Anointing
  3. Right attitude
  4. Right company (1 Chronicles 12:1ff)

You shall serve the Lord to our full potential and serve Him wholeheartedly. Be blessed;

I love you!

Attitude of a Good Workman

A good workman watches for wolves and foxes that destroy the vine – the tender vine.Originally published at highcity.org

[1 Corinthians 16:13-16 KJV] “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. [14] Let all your things be done with charity. [15] I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,) [16] That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us , and laboureth”.

There can be no harvest, if there are no workmen. The harvest is preserved by the effort of workmen who work with a good and positive attitude. We can bring in the harvest and preserve for eternity by the following;

1. Watch:

A good workman watches for wolves and foxes that destroy the vine – the tender vine.

2. Stand fast in the faith:

The workman must labour and labour in faith. You must stand firm in faith, because there are many things that are trying to push and snuff you out. I pray that as you read the word, hear the prophesy, and keep it until you will enter the full blessing

[Revelation 1:1-3 KJV] “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: [2] Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. [3] Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand”.

3. Quit you as men:

A lousy preacher or singer cannot awake a sleeping church. The workman must be fiery and proactive. Attitude is contagious. We must be willing and ready to push and win over all odds. Nothing should sap your energy. You must be a workman full of energy and zeal. Our LORD Jesus Christ was consumed by the zeal of the Lord.

4. Be strong:

We must fortify ourselves as workmen. A weakling cannot win the battle against evil. We must build strength in the inner man and push the frontiers of darkness backwards.

5. Do all things with love:

Love must be the motive and the spice of all the things we do in ministry. We must do all things in love and with love. Do nothing grudgingly. Do all the things willingly.

6. Subject to those who have addicted themselves to the work of God:

Never despise people who serve under the apostle. Esteem them highly in love. We must learn to respect and treat the helpers of the apostle right to cause the church to grow.

Be blessed, I love you!

God Wants You to Have a Good Life

God want us to have a good life. He wants us to have a sweatless and stress-free success life.Originally published at highcity.org

God wants you to have a good life. He wants us to have a sweatless and stress-free success life; all we have to do is to focus on seeking the kingdom and His righteousness.

[Matthew 6:33 KJV] “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.(Read Matthew 6:22‭-‬34 KJV)

God wants you to have a stress-free life and the simple secret to that stress-free life is to focus. The light of the body is the eye, so if your eye is one then great is your light. God does not want us to have a divided attention. He wants us to focus on the kingdom and on righteousness.

Many who went away to find riches fell into many foolish and hurtful lust. They pierced their souls with many foolish lusts, but as we focus on serving the Lord, He adds to us all the things that the world seeks after.

We know that godliness with contentment is great gain.

[1 Timothy 6:6-19 KJV] “But godliness with contentment is great gain. [7] For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. [8] And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. [9] But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. [10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. [11] But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

[12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. [13] I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; [14] That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: [15] Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; [16] Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

[17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; [18] That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; [19] Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life”.

God will surely give us a good life. I have no doubt at all. We should just focus on serving Him to our full potential.

As we focus on:

1. Seeking the Lord daily in prayer;

He will perfect that which concerns us. “He will show us great and mighty things which are unsearchable” (Jeremiah 33:3). The many revelations that will begin to flood your soul will lead you to success (Isaiah 45:1-3). The force of Prayer will lead you to discover true riches.

2. Gathering before Lord;

His doctrine will drop and distill upon us as rain (Deuteronomy 32:2). We are the planting of the Lord’s righteousness (Isaiah 61:3). As His word comes to us, it makes us fruitful (Isaiah 55:10-11).

3. Reaching to the lost and afflicted;

We are lending to the Lord and making investments that have good returns.

4. Working on our businesses to prepare our work without;

We grow prosperous and fat (Proverbs 10:4). The diligent leads and bears rule. The diligent prospers.

5. Set and pursue life development goals.

Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint (Proverbs 29:18). Indeed, by much slothfulness, the building decays. (Ecclesiastes 10:18)

Remember that God wants you to have a good life. He wants us to have a stress-free good life.

Stay blessed; I love you!

Wake up – You’ve got Work to do

Although the end of all things is at hand, we have work to do here on earth after we get born againOriginally published at highcity.org

“And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” (Luke 19:11‭-‬13 KJV)

This is a parable that Our Lord Jesus shared after the conversion of Zaccheaus to the faith.

The Scriptures teach us that the Lord told this parable because some thought that the end should come immediately. Inasmuch as the end of all things is at hand, after salvation, there is work to be done. The Lord has left us with responsibility and and work to be done. He gave His ten servants ten pounds and commanded them to occupy till He comes. He gave them capital and asked them to be occupied with it till He returns.

We must be occupying till He comes. There is work to be done and we must arise to take charge and take responsibility. We cannot be sleeping on the job. We must be awake and working hard. We are charged to occupy till He comes. He is coming quickly and expecting to see results when He returns.

He just gave them the pounds and left. It will take three things to get results.

1. Insight:

You can use your gifts if you gain understanding. We need understanding to know how to use our God-given potentials, opportunities and gifts.

2. Initiative:

Initiative is leading in and with action. We must awake and act. We ought to be up and hit the road running. We cannot while away the time of our lives. Arise and build.

3. Innovation:

Innovation is a new idea or method. You must help find new ways of solving problems. There will always be challenges, we must always find new ways of dealing with those challenges.

This is the time to awake and take up the challenge. We must arise and build.

I love you; stay blessed!

You are too Young to Give Up on Your Dreams

That is the most fruitful time of our lives. A day may come when we cannot do much; when death ceases upon men and we give up the ghost.Originally published at highcity.org

“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.” (John 21:17‭-‬19 KJV)

At the time our Lord was leaving the realms of the earth, He educated Apostle Peter on one of the most important philosophies for living. The Lord taught Him that when you are young, you can gird yourself about and go where you want. There will however come a day when other will carry you about.

It is therefore important to carry on gallantly and do what you can do while you are young. Youthfulness is an important virtue we cannot down play. Being youthful is a great asset. You can do all the things you want; there is strength. I pray that we shall arise and invest our youthfulness. The Lord wanted Apostle Peter to know this truth.

If we indeed love the Lord and are called according to His purpose, then we should arise early and take action on the assignment. This is our time; when we can walk and gird ourselves about and go wherever we want. This is the time to carry on with gathering fruits unto life eternal. This is the time to run with vision. A day is coming when no man can work; but this is the day and time.

Peter had returned to fishing and given up on ministry shortly after the Lord was crucified. The Lord told him this to inform us that we must make the most of our youth. That is the most fruitful time of our lives. A day may come when we cannot do much; when death ceases upon men and we give up the ghost.

You shall not fail if you step out. You will become all that the Lord has destined you to be. You shall in no wise fail. The Lord shall keep and bless you. Nothing shall harm you. Be strong and courageous.

I love you; stay blessed!

Grace Does not Quit – Grace Finishes what You Work on!

Grace Works by your hands: Your labour gives expression to grace.

Grace Does not Quit – Grace Finishes what You Work on! was originally published on HighCity Church

Grace Does not Quit - Grace Finishes what You Work on!“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.  Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.  Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,  The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.  For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord , which run to and fro through the whole earth.” (Zechariah 4:6‭-‬10 KJV)

I want to share with you the truth that grace does not quit; grace will finish what you started. The Lord is speaking to us clearly that you will finish what you started. Your own hands will finish it to the surprise of all who will see it. Many shall see your hands finish what you started and founded, and they shall acknowledge that the grace of God has indeed finished it.

This text we are reading is about how the building of the temple in Zerubbabel’s time came to a halt because the people backslided to building their own house and lives. They started the work on the temple but at a point the people abandoned it; they grew weary and the building project came to a halted. But under the leadership of prophet Zechariah and the Zerubbabel, there was a revival; the word of the Lord came through the prophet and there was a revival.

I see the same revival here; this time around you are stepping into the coming year with fire, passion, zeal and fortitude.

Grace does not work by might or power; grace works by the Spirit:

Grace operates by the anointing. If you really want to operate by grace, you must strive to catch the anointing. The Spirit gives energy to the grace.

Grace operates by fortitude:

People with grace will not be moved by mountains. They will rather see challenges as opportunities to prove their grace. Grace will bring out the headstone from the mountain. Grace empowers you to fight till you have overcome mountains. People of grace will not abandon you when the going gets tough. Like Zerubbabel they press on with you till you bring out the treasure from the challenges.

Grace works by honour:

If you despise your small beginnings, you cannot increase and double. You must honour your small beginnings, and your end shall greatly increase. We may be meeting in the hundreds now, but as we honour our small beginnings and work hard on it, we will begin to meet in the thousands. Grace works by honour.

Grace works by your hands:

Your intelligent labour gives expression to the grace on your life. If you refuse to labour with your hands, the grace on your life will rot and the work shall cease. What you are building will halt if you refuse to yield your members  as instruments of righteousness. The word of the Lord came unto us saying “the hands of Zerubbabel shall finish it”; but those who see it shall shout ‘grace, grace, grace…’”

Grace does not do the work, grace helps the workers and the leaders. I see great grace but our hands on the plough must push.

Grace works by the word of God in the mouth of His sent messenger:

The prophet declared that it shall happen and you shall know that the Lord sent me. Grace works by the prophetic word. You cannot despise prophesying and still expect grace to work for you. The grace of God multiplies in the lives of those who receive the word of God gladly. Remember the prophecy of a barley of wheat sold for a shekel in 24 hours; it is those who gladly received the word that enjoyed the fruits. The grace of God worked for Mary because she yielded to the word of God to her.

Grace works by God’s reality and standards:

We read that Zerubbabel was carrying a plummet in hands; but in reality that plummet was God’s eyes that run to and fro in the earth. When God met Moses, he was carrying a rod with which he led the flock of Jethro, but in reality what he was carry was the rod of the Lord. That rod in his hands carried power to turn into a live snake and then back into a stick. That rod could part the sea; release water from a rock; lead a people through a wilderness.

Your reality may not be God’s reality; you must strive to see things in the light of God’s wisdom. We must strive to see things in the light of the word of God.

Stay blessed; I love you!

How does Faith Work

God wants you to be in charge of the affairs of your life. You were created to have dominion and to rule in Life by the Word of God.

How does Faith Work was originally published on HighCity

How does Faith Work“Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord , as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” (Numbers 14:28 KJV)

Speak what you believe; that is how faith works. God wants you to be in charge of the affairs of your life. You were created to have dominion and to rule in Life by the Word of God. (See Romans 5:17)

Our authority as obedient children of God and the recipe for miracles are embedded in the word of God. When we act according to the word of God, we literally walk in the authority and name of God.

So then the simple steps to a miracle life are:

  1. Listen by the Word of God:

The Word of God should form the basis of how you hear. Romans 10:17 teaches that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Christians who can walk in authority are those who listen to the Word of God. These are they that intentionally try to implant the Word of God in their lives.

  1. Believe what you hear:

When you have heard by the Word of God, you must believe what you have heard. Hebrews 4:1-2 teaches that though the same gospel was preached to Israel, it did not profit them because they did not mix it with faith. Whenever the Word of God comes to you, you must believe it; or else the enemy will steal it from you heart.

  1. Speak what you believe:

We know the spirit of faith is speaking. Speak what you believe, that is how faith works. You don’t speak what you see, you must speak what you want to see.

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” (2 Corinthians 4:13 KJV)

  1. Act on what you say:

Faith without works is dead. Faith manifest when we act on what we speak.

You will not fail! You will access and harness the power resident in your positive words.

I love you, stay blessed!
