I want to exhort you on the wisdom to finish well — how to be wise if you want to finish well. The truth is, life is full of starters; many start well but just a few continue to finish well and strong.

I do not doubt that Romans 12 is important to teach you how to finish well and strong in whatever you have started. This chapter of the Bible will teach you how to run and finish well by faith.

I do not doubt that you can run and finish well. You will not miss God’s best for you. You will win and not fail if you can do the following;

1. Present your bodies as a living sacrifice:

It is important to remember that the body is the vehicle that carries the soul and spirit. Your body is what permits you to operate here; the very day the body becomes weak or sick or dead, you have to leave.

We must do everything to protect this body and the only way to protect and prepare this body for function, is to present it as a living sacrifice to God. This is the time to offer yourself as a living sacrifice. Give yourself to the church and serve the Lord with knowledge and zeal and holiness.

[Romans 12:1 KJV] “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

Wisdom to Finish Well

2. Don’t conform to the pattern of the world around you:

If you want to run and finish well in the will of God, you must not conform to the pattern of the world around you. If you will survive on campus, you must know who you are, and not copy everything you see around you. Friendship with the world is enmity with God.

[Romans 12:2 KJV] “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

3. Think soberly; don’t think too highly of yourself.

I want to exhort you to escape the trap of thinking that you are something that you are not. Endeavour not to think too highly of yourself.

Sometimes, we exalt ourselves too much. That makes us proud, too proud and we lose friends and great opportunities. It is important to remember that everyone is endowed with a gift. We all have our gifts and it is important to discover these gifts and use them to serve the Lord.

We all have gifts but our gifts differ. What you have is different from what I have, but we are all gifted in our special ways. Though we are different, we are members of One Body.

[Romans 12:3 KJV] “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith”

4. It takes teamwork to make a work work:

None of us have all it takes. We are all interdependent. You need me and I need you. We are members of one another. Your life flows into mine and mine into yours; we must help others and ask for help when in need.

[Romans 12:4-5 KJV] “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: [5] So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”

Wisdom to Finish Well

5. Having a gift is not enough, develop your skills set:

It is good to be gifted, but better to train and develop that gift. I believe we can all do more when we all work on our gifts.

[Romans 12:6-8 KJV] “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; [7] Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

[8] Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.”

6. Operate by love without discrimination:

Love will conquer great battles. Others may wrong you in this life, but loving will help you to forgive or cover multitudes of wrong. If you are going to win in 2021, you must love.

[Romans 12:9 KJV] “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”

7. Be fervent, zealous, and passionate in spirit and business as you serve the Lord:

I do not doubt that you can run and finish well. You will not fail; you will do well. My book, Steps to Total Victory will help you with finishing well and strong.

God bless you!

I want to exhort you today to get wisdom. In all of the things you are chasing after and looking for, if there is one thing you must strive to get, it is wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

Many of us are running after many things but have left behind the one thing that matters most — wisdom.

Today, I want you to make the commitment to get the things that matters most, wisdom.

Why get wisdom?

It is important to get wisdom because;

1. Wisdom is the principal thing:

[Proverbs 4:7 KJV] “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Wisdom may not be the only thing that is neccessary for success and significance but wisdom is the principal thing. Wisdom is the main thing. When you get wisdom, you have almost what matters most.

2. Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of our times, and the strength of salvation:

[Isaiah 33:6 KJV] “And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.”

Wisdom and knowledge brings stability, strength and gives value. When you fear the Lord, you have the beginning of this treasure.

Wisdom and knowledge is the stability of the times. If you want to be stable and strong and valuable, then educate yourself.

3. God rejects those who reject knowledge:

[Hosea 4:6 KJV] “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children”

One thing God detests the most is intellectual dishonesty. If you know to do good, do it. When you reject knowledge, God rejects you. Let’s us be committed to get wisdom.

4. Wisdom gives life to those who have it:

The fourth reason why I want you to get wisdom is the fact that wisdom gives life to those who have it.

[Ecclesiastes 7:12 KJV] “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”

I pray that you will chase after wisdom and get it. She will give you life and grace and honour.

Get Wisdom! - Seed Devotional

What is wisdom?

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Not every knowledge is wisdom. There is the wisdom of the world which is taught by demons and there is the wisdom of God that comes from above. Wisdom, therefore, is to;

  1. Know the will of God
  2. Learn how to do it and
  3. Actually doing it

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of both knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Any wisdom that is devoid of the fear of the Lord is foolishness. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

How do you find wisdom?

1. By praying:

The Bible teaches that if any man lacks wisdom, he should pray and God will give him wisdom liberally. God will not deny you wisdom.

2. Paying a visit to your ants:

The scriptures secondly exhort the slothful man to go to the ant, learn of it’s ways, and be wise. The ant has a lot of lessons to teach. The ants can teach us liberally.

3. Sitting at the feet of your teachers:

Surely, this is one of the traditional ways of getting knowledge but it is not the only way.

Teachers teach and impact knowledge, but those who get it are those who sit humbly at their feet.

4. Delighting in the precepts of the Lord:

The Bible teaches that “knowledge is sweet to the soul of the wise, and the heart of the prudent seeks knowledge.”

We must all strive for the heart of the prudent. Loving and delighting in the precepts of the Lord is a key step towards wisdom and knowledge.

I have no doubt that you will heed my humble appeal to get wisdom. Wisdom is the principal thing. In all thy getting, get wisdom.

I love you

4 Key Things Every Believer Needs to Succeed

We all face things that require some decisive action; we must, therefore, pray for wisdom to know which way to go.Originally published at highcity.org

I want to exhort you on four key things every believer needs to succeed in this decade without sweat: the Christ, faith, watchfulness and prayer, and wisdom. These are the key things that will keep you safe in these last days. 1. The Christ: Luke 4:16-17 teaches that Christ is the anointed one; the anointed one to deal with the six major problems of life: poverty, brokenheartedness, captivity, blindness, bruises, and bad seasons and evil days. Jesus Christ is the man anointed to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the broken hearted, preach deliverance, preach recovery of sight to the blind, set the captives free, to restore the bruised, and preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Jesus Christ is the only person anointed to deal with these six problems of life; indeed, if the son shall, therefore, set you free, you shall be free indeed.

2. Faith:

Mark 16: 17-20 teaches that those who hear and believe the gospel we preach are empowered to manifest fivefold signs. They are able to heal.the sick, cast out devils, speak with a new tongue, take up serpents, and escape the venom of poison. Faith is that master key that enables a mere man to do all these and many more. The anointing alone is not enough to solve all problems, you also need faith. You need to believe the gospel. You must believe. Most of the challenges you face are in the mind and heart. Faith is that weapon that empowers you to win the battle.

3. Watchfulness and prayer:

Mark 14:48 exhorts us to watch and pray, lest we enter into temptation. The world is dark and things are not always what they seem; therefore, you need to be vigilant to escape the trapping of the enemy. We must watch and pray. We must not just go through life, we must watch and pray fervently. Believers need to be watching and praying; it is the Lord that would establish your going. You may devise your ways but it is the Lord that shall determine your steps. I pray that you shall make prayer your habit and a watch word.

4. Wisdom:

Finally, wisdom is profitable to direct. We all face things that require some decisive action; we must, therefore, pray for wisdom to know which way to go. We must pray that God will give us wisdom. You need that wisdom and God is going to help you with it. I pray that you will be admonished and you shall seek to find these four things which will help you find godly success. The Lord shall be your light and help, trust Him with all your heart. Be blessed, I love you! Kofi Simpe Prayer: Father, please give me your Holy Spirit, faith, a spirit of watchfulness and prayer, and the wisdom for life. I know You will not withhold any of these things from me. Thank You for answering my prayer, Amen! Originally published at highcity.org

Let Christ be Formed in You

When Christ is formed in you, you have the light that enlightens every man who comes into the world and you become the light of the world. This is why many have become fools; they have rejected Christ who is the wisdom and the power of God.Originally published at highcity.org

I want to speak to you today about the need to have Christ formed in you.

[Galatians 4:19‭-‬20 KJV] “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you”.

It is important to understand that there are two worlds; This present world and the world to come.

Now you need Christ to be formed in you for two reasons;

  1. To give you a competitive advantage to gathering enough resources in this present world to meet needs and
  2. To taste of the power of the world to come before we enter in there.

You must understand that Christ is the wisdom and the power of God that empowers all those who receive Him, even those who believe on His name to become the sons of God. Christ is that wisdom and power of God that empowers us and gives us a competitive advantage in competing for the scarce resources to meet the insatiable needs of man.

We all know that man has insatiable needs and we are all competing for the scarce resources to meet those needs. Everyman on the face of the earth is running after these scarce resources to meet their needs. Having Christ formed in you does not only give you a competitive advantage in life but also you get to taste of the powers of the world to come (See Hebrews 6:4-6).

Any man who disobeys Christ is not wise. We don’t just come to church for coming sake. We come to pray, to worship, to hear, to do, and to give towards the building of the kingdom. That is why the Bible says that it is the doer of the word that is blessed and not the hearer.

When Christ is formed in you, you have the light that enlightens every man who comes into the world and you become the light of the world. This is why many have become fools; they have rejected Christ who is the wisdom and the power of God. Many have become fools and losers because they have rejected the word of God. Our greatest advantage in life comes through Christ in us.

The Bible says that “Christ in anyone of us is the hope of glory.” Without Christ in you, there is no hope of glory. You will end up in shame if you don’t allow Christ to be formed in you. Only Christ in you is the hope of ever walking in the corridors of glory.

How then can Christ be formed in you?

1. Through Baptisms:

We become one with Christ through baptisms; both water and Holy Spirit baptisms. Through baptism, we become one spirit with Christ. The Bible says that “he that has not the spirit of Christ is none of His.”

2. Through the Communion:

The bread and the cup we bless is our connection to the eternal life of God. John 6:53-58 teaches that he that eats the flesh of Christ and drinks the blood dwells in Christ and Christ dwells in him. The communion is an important part of having Christ formed in you. Through the Lord’s table, we become one spirit with the Lord.

3. Through the Word:

Christ is the Word that was with the Father from the beginning, hence, those who have the word have Christ in them. When you receive the word, you are cleansed. The word washes and makes you clean.

4. Through prayer and quiet times:

The fellowship of the Spirit connects us to Him. As we spend time in His presence, we are changed into His image. We are changed into the same glory as we behold.

5. Through the church

The final point of connection is the church. The church is the body of Christ, so anybody connected to the church is connected to the body. Through our connection to the church, we are connected to the body of Christ.

I will encourage you to be connected to Christ, and not just connected but also allow Him to be formed in you; this is your only hope of glory. I encourage you to pray that Christ will be formed in you.

Be blessed, I love you!

Teach Us to Number Our Days

I want to exhort you on the need to learn from God how to number your days; that is the only way you can apply your heart to wisdom.Originally published at highcity.org

I want to exhort you on the need to learn from God how to number your days; that is the only way you can apply your heart to wisdom. Until we all learn to number our days, we are likely to act silly.

Text

[Psalm 90:9-17 KJV] “For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. [10] The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. [11] Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. [12] So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

[13] Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. [14] O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. [15] Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. [16] Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. [17] And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it”.

Discussion

The Bible teaches that biblical life expectancy is 70 years and most strong people live up to 80 years, yet their days pass as a dream in the night and as smoke. We spend our days as a tale that is being told. You will not be taken by surprise, when you number your days aright.

Every man’s life is divided into four chunks: 25 years – 25 years – 20 years – Miscellaneous. We must spend the first 25 to learn and train, then the next 25 to practice, the next 20 to consult and mentor, and spend the rest of our time gracing occasions.

There is the need to apply your heart to wisdom. You must know what matters most at which stage. The threefold wisdom to live by is to understand that;

1. You are created for a purpose and God loves you just as you are;

You are fearfully and wonderfully made to rule in the stead of God.

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. [Jeremiah 1:5 KJV]

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. [Psalms 139:14‭-‬18 KJV]

2. You must grow in grace, in stature, in wisdom and be subject to your parents;

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. [Luke 2:51‭-‬52 KJV]

3. You must work while it is day, because the night is coming when no man can work;

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. [John 9:4 KJV]

In midst of all this, eat healthily, spend quality time with your family, spend time enjoying the quality and beauty you find around you.

Be blessed; I love you!

The Ancient Secrets to Power and Wisdom

We have come to understand that we would bear fruits when we desire and pursue increasing empowerment and wisdom to run.Originally published at highcity.org

We shall be exploring ancient secrets to power and wisdom.

[fusion_text][Acts 2:42-47 KJV] “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. [43] And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. [44] And all that believed were together, and had all things common; [45] And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. [46] And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, [47] Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved”.

Discussions

We have come to understand that we would bear fruits when we desire and pursue increasing empowerment and wisdom to run. As we gather for fellowship, we must strive to receive more power and wisdom.

We have learned that it is important for every generation of men to have a vision, but vision alone is not enough to make you fruitful. Vision shows you the full picture but wisdom reveals the steps that take you to that picture, and power is the force that drives you there. That is why it is important to explore the ancient secrets to power and wisdom. These ancient secrets are;

  1. Family
  2. Prayer,
  3. Studying,
  4. Fellowship,
  5. Spirit meals,
  6. The fear of the Lord,
  7. Sacrifice

These are ancient secrets to power and wisdom.

1. Family:

The first ancient secret to power is to be born into a family. God puts us into families because He wants godly children. The devil’s greatest weapon is broken homes. When the home is broken, the children suffer the most. Most dysfunctional children come from dysfunctional homes. A family is a people bound by blood or creed. Families dwell together, but the secret to power is to dwell together in unity. It is like oil flowing from the head of Aaron to the skirt of his garment.

[1 Corinthians 7:13‭-‬14 KJV] “And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. [14] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy”.

When we are born into families, we inherit the grace and wisdom of those families. Prince’s are born into royalty, but they are mentored and tutored into royalty.

2. Mentorship:

The second secret we must explore is studying; the Bible exhorts us to study to show ourselves approved as workmen who need not be ashamed. In Galatians 4, we learn that the child, although he is the heir of all, differs not from a servant, until he is put under tutors for a time. The Psalmist tells us that the testimonies of the Lord make him wiser.

[Psalms 119:99 KJV] “I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation”.

You may have been born with royal blood running but you must be mentored and tutored to become a true royal. A child left on his own will shall be destroyed.

3. Fellowship:

The Bible tells us that “Iron sharpens iron, so does the countenance of a man sharpens that of his neighbour”. Through fellowship, we are sharpened. One secret to Daniel’s power is fellowship. He maintained fellowship with his friends. Our Lord teaches us by example how He maintained fellowship with the Father daily. The secret to power in Adam’s life to have dominion was in his fellowship with God. God came to the garden daily to fellowship with men, but we lost authority when that fellowship was broken.

4. Spiritual Meals:

The fourth secret to power is eating spiritual meals. We can see this example in Moses, Elijah, Jesus, and the early church. Each of these men of faith were prayerful and studious. They maintained fellowship with God and others with a similar calling and purpose, they all ate spiritual meals. Moses ate the Passover, Elijah ate the meal an angel baked, Jesus Christ ate the Passover until he became the Passover Lamb. John 6 teaches that those who eat the bread of the body of Christ and drink the wine of His blood in remembrance of Him receive eternal life.

5. Prayer:

Luke 18 exhorts us to pray so that we don’t faint. Prayer increases your staying power, in the same way, prayer increases your understanding and wisdom. Jeremiah 33:3 says that God shows unsearchable things to those who call on Him. James also admonishes that those who lack wisdom should ask God for it.

6. Fear of the Father:

We know that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. In fact, Psalm 34 teaches that the angel of the Lord encamps about them that fear God.

[Psalms 34:7 KJV] “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them”.

7. Sacrifice:

The sixth secret to explore is the secret of sacrifice. This includes the sacrifice of praise which is the fruits of the lips, the sacrifice of our substance, and the sacrifice of our very lives which is a key to holiness. Sacrifice provokes Heaven to act.

I pray that you shall engage these ancient secrets to power and wisdom. You will have ever-increasing power and wisdom to bear fruits.

Stay blessed; I love you!

The Wisdom of Giant-killers

You may not be a giant but you can kill giants if you are willing and ready to apply your heart to wisdom and counsel.Originally published at highcity.org

[1 Samuel 17:26-29 KJV] “And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? [27] And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him. [28] And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle. [29] And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?”

Giant-killers are not necessarily giants themselves, but they are able to kill giants because of wisdom. David was not a giant, but by engaging with wisdom, he was able to kill and finish a giant. It takes wisdom and counsel to win a war. Most battles are not won by might but by wisdom and counsel. What then is the wisdom of giant-killers, and how can we engage with that wisdom? I pray that the Lord will help you to recieve this wisdom as I share them with you.

1. Ask the right questions:

Giant-killers probe thoroughly and research. Giant-killers don’t just jump into the waters and begin to swim. David probed to understand what was going on. He wanted to understand what was going on on that battlefield. Many of us fail because we do not ask the right questions at the right time. Even in relationships and dating, many of us don’t ask the right questions, and that is why we are unable to kill giants.

2. War by prophecy:

By prophetic instinct, David knew that Jacob is the battle axe of the Lord and His weapon of war. David only offered himself as a steward and an agent that God can count on. We are the battle axe and a weapon of war in the hands of the Lord. When we are yielded, God can use us.

[Jeremiah 51:20-23 KJV] “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; [21] And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider; [22] With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid; [23] I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers”.

3. Fight for a just cause:

Giant-killers fight the good fight of faith; they fight the battle of the Lord. Giant-killers arise to fight only if there is a cause: David stepped out to fight Goliath because there was a cause. When his brothers were complaining, he asked them whether there was not a cause.

A. Giant-killers don’t invite themselves: David was not a busy body. He waited at what he was assigned to. He waited to be invited to the meeting where a king will be anointed.

B. Giant-killers are totally submitted to the authority set over them: Giant-killers choose submission and obedience.

C. Giant killers don’t hold a person’s person in awe: The fear of a man brings a snare.

4. Sit down and count the cost:

David recounted how he had killed a bear, and a lion, and knew that God will give him what it takes to finish Goliath just as He gave him power over the lion and the bear. Giant-killers don’t just jump into battles, they sit and count the cost. You must sit down and count every cost. A giant is not a toy, you must venture into such battles prepared.

[Luke 14:28-32 KJV] “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it ? [29] Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it , all that behold it begin to mock him, [30] Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. [31] Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? [32] Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace”.

Every battle costs something; you must be ready to pay the price. You must be ready and willing to fight to the end. Have a strategic plan, because wars are won in the general’s chamber, even though they are fought on the battle ground. There is the need to strategise when you want to kill a giant.

5. List the options:

David did not just step out there to fight Goliath, he listed his options, and even knew which weapons he could use and which ones he could not use.

6. Analyze and chose an option:

Giant-killers prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. Giant-killers do not use weapons which they have not tried. Often, many of us give up on our convictions because of what our friends or people in authority say. Saul suggested that David use his armour, but David declined because he had not proved them. Giant-killers use weapons they have proven.

[1 Thessalonians 5:20‭-‬22 KJV] “Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil”.

7. Implement the chosen option:

David chose his weapon carefully. He chose what he had proven. He did not settle for just anything. We must carefully choose and implement the choice we make.

You may not be a giant but you can kill giants if you are willing and ready to apply your heart to wisdom and counsel. You win the the battle by wisdom but you fight it on the ground. Be blessed.

I love you!

Winning in 2019

The Bible teaches in James 1:5-9 that if any of us is in doubt as to what to do and how to go about it, let him ask God. Everyone of us must know what to do and how to go about it at all times.Originally published at highcity.org

[1 Chronicles 12:32 KJV] “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment”.

One of the most important secrets to success and prosperity is to gain understanding into the times and to know what the team ought to do. There is no greater disaster than to loose your sense of direction, purpose and vision.

When Mary anointed Jesus Christ with oil, Judas erred because he neither had understanding into the times nor knew what the team ought to have done. The greater evil is that even when he was taught by his pastor, he refused to heed. He thought he knew better and he distrusted his pastor. He thought Jesus was only making excuses because He was enjoying the advantage (See Ezekiel 23:1-8,14)

The Bible teaches in James 1:5-9 that if any of us is in doubt as to what to do and how to go about it, let him ask God. Everyone of us must know what to do and how to go about it at all times.

To win in 2019;

1. Ask the Lord for wisdom:

Let the Lord show you what to do and how to go about it.

[Proverbs 3:5-7] “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him”.

In all your ways, remember that except He builds the house, they labor in vain that build it.

Know exactly what must be done and how to go about it: it is called planning, what is the goal and the steps towards achieving it.

2. Sit down and count the cost:

Don’t start anything for which you have not counted the cost.

[Luke 14:28 KJV] “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it ?.”

Remember that somethings will literally cost you your very life and relationships.

3. Don’t sleep or slack, take action:

Those who sleep fail.

[Proverbs 6:9-10 KJV] “How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? [10] Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:”

[Proverbs 23:31-33 KJV] “Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. [32] At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. [33] Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things”.

Stay blessed; I love you!

In All Thy Getting Get Understanding

The difference between wisdom and knowledge is perspective or understanding. Knowledge is simply to know or to be informed; wisdom is to understand what it should mean to you.Originally published at highcity.org

[Proverbs 4:7 KJV] “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding”.

Wisdom is the principal thing, hence there is the need to get understanding. How then can we gain this understanding? Let us share practical steps to gain that understanding.

In life, the difference between wisdom and knowledge is perspective or understanding. Knowledge is simply to know or to be informed; wisdom is to understand what it should mean to you.

I read about two twin boys raised by an alcoholic father.

One grew up to be a worse alcoholic than the father. When asked why he drinks, he said “I watched and learnt from my father”. The other grew up and never touched anything alcoholic his entire life. When asked same question, he replied “I watched and learnt from my father”.

Two boys, same dad, same growing environment but they had two different perspectives.

In all thy getting, get wisdom, get understanding. I pray that the good Lord will enlighten you to know what to do with knowledge.

The steps to gain understanding for living is to be;

1. Subject to tutors;

There is a vast differencd between authority, right, capacity, and understanding. We gain understanding when we submit to our tutors. Your tutors and governors teach and prepare you for the future. The role of tutors and governance is to equip you for full function.

[Galatians 4:1‭-‬2 KJV] “Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be Lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father”.

2. Go to the ant;

Your ant is anyone you don’t respect much but is achieving more than you expect. The ant is a small animal yet can achieve much in a short time.

[Proverbs 6:6‭-‬8 KJV] “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: [7] Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, [8] Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest”.

3. Observe nature;

Nature always has something to teach. There is so much we can learn from nature. The Bible encourages us to study nature to understand truth.

[1 Corinthians 11:14 KJV] “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?”

4. Lay aside malice… and desire the sincere milk of the word;

A malicious hypocrite can never increase in knowledge. It takes sincerity to increase in knowledge.

[1 Peter 2:1‭-‬3 KJV] “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, [2] As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: [3] If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious”.

5. Pray;

God gives wisdom and does not reproach or rebuke you for asking for it. He shows great and mighty things and those who pray operate this high knowledge.

[James 1:5 AMP] “If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him”.

6. Be prudent at heart and wise in the ear

May the Lord give each of us a prudent heart to understand wisdom. May your ears be empowered with wisdom so that in hearing you will understand.

[Proverbs 18:15 KJV] “The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge”.

Be blessed, I love you!

4 Things that Lead to a Healthy Walk with God

The Lord reveals His will to those who are willing to offer their bodies as a holy sacrifice, while despising the patterns and standards of the worldOriginally published at highcity.org

[Colossians 1:9‭-‬12 KJV] “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:”

Four simple things that lead to a healthy walk with God, after you have found unfeigned faith in His Son. You will be able to walk with divinity and enjoy it if you get:

Filled with knowledge

It is my prayer that you will be “filled with the knowledge of the will of God in all wisdom and spiritual understanding”. I pray that you will not be confused about what the will of God for your life is. Once you know the will of God for your life and focus, you’ll have great light and clarity of vision. You must know the will of God in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. This happens when you;

  1. Reject and despise the pattern and standards of the world.
  2. Renew your mind according to the word of God you hear.
  3. Offer your body as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto God (See Romans 12:1-3)

Until you reject and despise worldly standards, renew your mind, and offer your body as a sacrifice, you can never know the will of God in wisdom and spiritual understanding. The Lord reveals His will to those who are willing to offer their bodies as a holy sacrifice, while despising the patterns and standards of the world.

Walk worthy of the Lord

I pray that you will walk worthy of the the Lord in all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in knowledge.

You can walk worthy of the Lord when you focus on;

  1. Pleasing the Lord in all things
  2. Being fruitful in every good work
  3. Increasing in knowledge

This is the desire of the Lord. John 15:16 teaches that He has chosen us that we should go and bear fruits and that our fruits might remain. The Lord wants us to be fruitful unto every good work and increase in knowledge. All of us must increase in knowledge. We must “give attendance to reading, exhortation and doctrine” (See 1 Timothy 4:13).

Be strengthened with might

I pray that you will be strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; this is one of the secrets to victory over satanic powers. Ephesians 6: 10-18 teaches us to “be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might”.

Give thanks always

Your final and fourth key is to learn to “giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light”. We must thank God because He has made us to be partakers with the saints in light. If you are born again then you are a partaker of the inheritance of the saints. You are now in the family of God and qualify for a supernatural lifestyle. You will not do well until you are thankful for the faith.

These are the four things that helps us to live a life pleasing to God. You will be the delight and the joy of the Lord. You will grow healthily.

Be blessed, I love you!
