Finding Rest unto Your Soul

Life becomes easier when we learn to do things the Christ way!Originally published at highcity.org

[Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 KJV] “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”.

I prophesy to you that you shall find rest unto your soul. The days of pain and anxiety must be over. The Lord wants to give us rest on every side. I believe that you shall walk in peace and rest. This is that time of your life where you can succeed in rest.

It was in the wee hours of the day when I heard the Lord tell me that, it is time to arise and find rest unto our souls. There is a promise left for us to walk into rest. The Lord said “come unto me all you that labour and are heavy laden. ” There is a promise of rest left for us. Each of us can find rest unto our souls. All you have got to do is to;

1. Take the yoke of Christ upon you:

His yoke is lighter. Those who want to find rest must be willing to “let go and let God …”. You must learn to do the first works with love.

2. Learn from Christ:

The second requirement to find rest is to learn from Christ. When we learn to do it the Christ way, things become easy. The way of a transgressor is hard but the Christ way is easier.

These are the two simple secrets to finding rest to our souls. You soul must find rest and nothing should stop you. This is the simplest way to find rest. This is the secret to a stress-free life. This is the secret to walking into sweatless success. I prophesy that this year shall be a year of great return for you. You will not miss the promise, God will be with you and take you far.

Be blessed, I love you!

Prayer:

Dear God, please help me to take Your yoke upon myself and learn from You to find rest. Amen!

Protect Your Spirit

The scripture teaches that the spirit of a man will sustain him in the day of adversity. The spirit of a man shall keep him when he feels sick and broken, but a wounded spirit has no remedy.Originally published at highcity.org

[Proverbs 18:14 KJV] “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”

I am sure that by now you know that man is tripartite: you are living soul, you live in a body, and you have a spirit. The body is the vehicle that carries us about and allows us to operate in the earth realm. The soul is the emotion, intellectual, and reason part. The spirit is that which connects us to the higher powers of the supernatural. When the body gives up, life on earth ends.

The scripture teaches that the spirit of a man will sustain him in the day of adversity. The spirit of a man shall keep him when he feels sick and broken, but a wounded spirit has no remedy. No man can bear the pain of a wounded spirit, hence the need to protect your spirit from wounds and hurts.

We must protect our spirits from getting hurt, broken or wounded. Your spirit is a very important part of you; it is your defense and shield in the day and moment of adversity. Your spirit will bear you in the day of adversity, but when the spirit is wounded, you have lost what can defend you, and you cannot easily survive. You must, therefore, guard your spirit and keep it from wounds. I pray that the Lord shall touch and heal every spirit that is wounded. Be preserved from hurt and adversity. May the Lord heal your broken-heartedness! May your spirit be strengthened to keep you from failing!

May the Lord keep you from the many things that wound the spirit; deferred hopes, bad news, deceit from friends and family, etc! May the Lord preserve you! May He keep you from falling! Be healed! Be restored! May you be strengthened, Amen!

Remember, that your spirit will sustain you in infirmity, but no one can bear a wounded spirit. By this, the scriptures are teaching us that a healthy spirit conquers adversity, but that there is nothing you can do when your spirit is crushed? When your spirit is healthy, you can pull through in adversity. You can conquer adversity when your spirit is healthy, but what can you do when you are broken and crushed within even before calamity strikes. I pray that you will not allow anything to wound your spirit. Your spirit is so important in surviving adversity, so guard it.

Be blessed, I love you!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, please touch and heal my spirit. Repair the breaches and purge me of bitterness. Make me strong to conquer every adversity, Amen!

Why We Maintain Fellowship

We build up ourselves on our most holy faith through fellowship. When we maintain a healthy fellowship with the Holy Ghost and the brethren, we grow stronger.Originally published at highcity.org

We maintain a healthy fellowship with the Holy Spirit and with the brethren in order to grow a healthy and strong spirit. The more we fellowship with the Holy Spirit and with the brethren, the more we grow stronger.

[Galatians 5:16-18 KJV] “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. [17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. [18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law”.

We have already studied that man is tripartite, just like God. We were created in the image and likeness of God to have dominion and be fruitful. We know that man is a living soul, has a spirit, and lives in a body according to Genesis 2:7.

We however understand from Galatians 7:17 that the spirit and the flesh are in a constant battle with each other. They are all trying to gain control and rule over the soul. We have therefore admonished ourselves to grow stronger in the spirit man, so that we could control the wild flesh in order to live the life of faith.

The more we build up our faith through reading, hearing, and doctrine, prayer, worship and singing, desiring and relaxing in the presence of the Lord alone and with the brethren, the more we build and grow a stronger spirit.

We maintain a healthy fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the brethren in order to maintain a healthy and stronger spirit man. When we grow a healthy spirit man, we are able to possess our bodies in honour and please God. We build up ourselves on our most holy faith through fellowship. When we maintain a healthy fellowship with the Holy Ghost and the brethren, we grow stronger.

That is why the Bible exhorts us not to forsake the assembling together of ourselves. There is so much power in fellowshipping; so many great benefits.

[Hebrews 10:24-25 KJV] “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: [25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is ; but exhorting one another : and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”.

It is our apostle’s desire that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us. The communion of the Holy Spirit is so important. I pray that the Communion of the Holy Ghost shall be with you all.

[2 Corinthians 13:14 KJV] “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen”.

Your fellowship will sustain and help your growth. Be blessed.

I love you!

Beware of Coveteousness, Build Value into Your Name

It is useless to amass wealth by covetousness. We brought nothing into the world and it is certain that we can take nothing out.Originally published at highcity.org

[Luke 12:15 KJV] “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth”.

One day, a man requested that the Lord should talk to his brother to divider his inheritance with him. The Lord was smart to know that he was neither a judge nor divider over them. He however warned the company to be ware of covetousness; because a man’s life does not consist of the abundance of things he owns.

Inasmuch as the Bible tells us that a rich man’s wealth is his ransom, money does not save, nor does it add value to your life. The Bible does not frown on working hard for money, rather, it frowns on building wealth through covetousness. Like the love of money, what is really evil is covetousness. The Lord warns us to beware of covetousness.

In the ensuing parable after this verse, the Lord Jesus teaches the need to build value into our name. He exhorts us to build for ourselves money bags that do not wax old.

The simple reason to beware of covetousness, is the fact that a man’s life does not consist of the abundance of things he has. You must know the following truths:

1. When God demands for your life, the only thing you can take out is your soul:

You brought nothing into this world and surely you can take nothing out. Whatever you acquire here shall be left for another. Why then should you scramble for things through covetousness.

[Luke 12:16-21 KJV] “And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: [17] And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? [18] And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. [19] And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. [20] But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? [21] So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God”.

2. The second truth is the fact that life is more than food or clothes:

The same God who feeds the ravens shall feed you. The same God who clothes the lilies shall cloth you. Take no thought of what to eat or to be clothed. We must focus on seeking the kingdom; we must not seek wealth cloths and food and all the things the nations are running after.

[Luke 12:22-31 KJV] “And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. [23] The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment”.

[24] “Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? [25] And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? [26] If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?”

[27] “Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [28] If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?”

[29] “And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. [30] For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. [31] But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you”.

3. The third truth is, it is better to sell what you have and build value into your name and destiny by solving problems, than to amass wealth:

Whether we like it or not, whether we live or die, the Lord shall return, and this earth will melt with heat and the heavens will roll like a mat. The only thing a man can take out is what he has built in his heavenly account or vault. We may look silly for now until the earth begins to melt and the heavens roll like a mat when the seals are broken.

[Luke 12:32-40 KJV] “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. [33] Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. [34] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”.

[35] “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; [36] And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. [37] Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. [38] And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants”.

[39] “And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. [40] Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not”.

It is useless to amass wealth by covetousness. We brought nothing into the world and it is certain that we can take nothing out. Stay blessed!

I love you;

Living Right and Wisely

Many are erring because they are running after things that don’t really matter. What is all the mad rush for? What are we chasing money and fame for? What shall it really profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?Originally published at highcity.org

Mark 8:36 KJV] “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the world and lose his own soul. The real you comprises of your soul. Therefore, why should you make choices that may give you the whole world whilst you lose your own soul. You must do all that you can, to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Time is not on our side. We must make the most of all things.

Indeed, the craze for money, fame, luxury and ease is too much. Many are erring because they are running after things that don’t really matter. What is all the mad rush for? What are we chasing money and fame for? What shall it really profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? I pray that the Lord will help us find wisdom. I pray that we don’t run after things. I pray that we shall focus on working out the salvation of our souls.

Life is simple, and there are four simple tips to live right and wisely. Stop rushing and running around. Stop every silly drama. The secret to a good easy life without stress or pain or anxiety; but full of joy and peace and righteousness is:

  1. Earn a living
  2. Love God with all your heart
  3. Love one another and
  4. Disciple another

These are the four tips to living right and wisely.

1. Earning a living is the master-key to an honest life among those that are without;

To be able to live honestly, we must strive to find what to eat, what to wear and a place of shelter. This is why you must learn to work with your hands. The Bible tells us that “if you have what to eat and wear; be content therewith”. Life has priorities and it’s important to get those priorities right. So focus on getting;

  • What to eat and drink
  • What to wear and a place of shelter, then if you have excess,
  • Reach out to the fatherless, widows and vulnerable
  • Pursue a life development goal if you still have excess resources

This is what we call, earning a living; working to earn the things that are necessary for life.

2. Those who love God with all their hearts obey Him;

If you love God, you must keep His commandments. We must obey Him and keep His word. Obedience is the first sign of love. If you love God, you will keep His commandments.

3. If you love your neighbour as yourself, you will not harm them, hurt them, or stab them in the back;

God is love and when we love one another, we will be orderly and law-abiding.

4. Finally, you are called to disciple others;

In Matthew 28:18-20, we are told to go into the world and make disciples of the nations. You are called to make disciples of nations. So purpose to reach out.

This is how I live my life, and it is what it meaning to live for God. The Lord is ministering to me to raise an army that runs the Lord’s errands. You are blessed and you can disciple others. May you arise to earn a living, love God, love others, and disciple others. God bless you.

I love you;

Understanding the Nature of Man

We are created in the image and the likeness of God. We are created to function as God does, in the midst of His creation. We must be careful how we carry ourselves in this life, because soon and very soon all of us will go to our eternal homes.Originally published at highcity.org

[Genesis 2:7 KJV] “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breoath of life; and man became a living soul”.

The Bible tells us that God formed man out of the dust of the earth, He breathed into the dust, and man became a living soul. Man is tripartite, just like God, in whose image we were created; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. So I am a living soul, I have a spirit, and live in a body; a body taken out of dust.

The Bible tells us that when a man dies, when “the cistern be broken and the silver cord is broken; the spirit goes to He who gave it and the dust returns to the earth from where it was taken;” the only thing a man truly possess is his soul.

[Ecclesiastes 12:6‭-‬7 KJV] “Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. [7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it”.

So, man is a living soul, has a spirit, and lives in a body. We are created in the image and the likeness of God. We are created to function as God does, in the midst of His creation. We must be careful how we carry ourselves in this life, because soon and very soon all of us will go to our eternal homes.

The Bible tells us that it profits no man even if he will gain the whole world and lose his own soul. Your soul is who you are, you must therefore make decisions that guarantees your soul a peaceful eternal home.

[Mark 8:36 KJV] “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

I pray that you shall understand your very nature, and work for the salvation of your soul. Your real profit is your soul. To save your soul and prepare it for eternal peace with God is your foremost responsibility.

When all is said and done, you will face eternity either alone or with Christ. God will not force either heaven or hell on you; he will honour your choice. You have a choice to make, but remember that God will respect your choice, so choose wisely.

May the Lord help us to make intelligent choices! We are free agents. Our many choices determine the outcome of our lives. The Bible says that “we all, as sheep, have gone astray, but now we can return to the bishop and Shepherd of our souls”. We have a Shepherd now that way he’s over our souls. Let us return! He is waiting.

[1 Peter 2:25 KJV] “For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls”.

This is the day and moment to return to the bishop of our souls. May the Lord Shepherd and watch over your souls. You are a soul, have a spirit and live in a body. Stay blessed, be blessed.

I love you;

Understand the Spiritual Gates to Your Life

You guard your heart with all diligence by guarding your senses from picking the wrong informationOriginally published at highcity.org

[1 Thessalonians 5:14‭, ‬23 KJV] “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

Every person on Earth today must understand that we are created in the image and the likeness of God to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the Earth, and subdue it and have dominion over every creeping thing. We were intensionally and purposefully created (See Genesis 1:26-29)

Every part of you was purposefully created by the Creator to serve a purpose; you have three main parts: the spirit, the soul, and the body: In Daniel 7:15, we understand that the spirit lives in the midst of the body. The Gospels also clearly shows that the soul is different from the body.

Your senses offers the entry points or gates to your soul and spirit. This is where there are the openings of your body which offer entry into the body. Your senses are the input devices to the soul and spirit and body. Your eyes, ears, tongue, nose, and skin are the main gateways into the soul and spirit.

You guard your heart with all diligence by guarding your senses from picking the wrong information. Be careful what you hear and how you hear it. May the Lord help us to guard our spiritual portals with sobriety and vigilance! May the Lord become your shelter from the stormy blast!

Stay blessed; I love you!

The Value of Your Soul

The most valuable thing you have is your soul. It is not your houses, cars and investment. It is more valuable than the whole worldOriginally published at highcity.org

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36 KJV)

The most valuable thing you have is your soul. It is not your houses, cars and investment.  Your soul is the most valuable possession you have. Indeed, it’s more valuable than the whole world put together.

We know that this world and the things in it will pass away but our souls will live forever; some in eternal peace and others in eternal damnation.  We may live for seventy or even more years on earth but after death, we face judgement and spend eternity in one of two places; in peace or in torment.

I exhort you to prepare for eternity. It is time to be sure that you have secured a place in the kingdom of God. The world may be chasing wealth, pleasure and things but we should know better. We must know that it is possible to seek the kingdom first and all other thing be added unto us, or to chase all other things and lose both the kingdom and all those other things.

Hell is a dreadful place; the Lake of Fire is a terrible place. It is time to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. I speak over your lives that none will be lost. In the coming days, we will work out the salvation of our souls in Jesus’ name!

This is the day of grace and the season to prepare for eternity. Don’t seek the world before you, don’t chase the things in it. Seek ye first the kingdom and the righteousness of God and all other things shall be added unto you.

I love you!

Prophetic Prayer Points for 21 Days Breaking Your Fallow Ground

1. Father deliver us from the oppression of the mighty and from poverty.

2. Dear Father, in the Name of Jesus send Your Word, speak, utter Your voice! command us as Your troops and we shall step out.

3. Dear God as we arise, let the fighting men rally with us. Send men who are ready to take risks, send those with the ready pen of scribes. Bring along those with the grace of governance and strategy. Lord stir up the heart of experts. Bring them to help the course of Christ.

4. Lord, as we step out to take risks, command the Stars of Heaven to fight against our oppressors. Let the torrential currents of the rivers sweep them away. May the angel of the Lord utter His voice against them. Above all let the peg from the tent of Jael pierce their temple. Discomfit the oppressor in the name of Jesus Christ!

5. Disappoint those waiting to hear the news of our destruction. Put them to shame in Jesus’ name. Bring us out of every horrible pit and put a new song in our mouths. Cause our souls to sing again as Deborah and Barak sang.

6. Finally, prepare us for the victory, and the journey of rebuilding our lives in the name of Jesus!

Amen!

Lord Prepare Me

Our prayer today is that the Lord will prepare us to be ready for the new things that He is preparing for us. So, let’s make the following decrees;

Lord Prepare Me was originally published on HighCity Church

Lord-Prepare-Me“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new [fermenting] wine will [expand and] burst the skins and it will be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined.” (Luke 5:37, Amplified Bible)

Our prayer today is that the Lord will prepare us to be ready for the new things that He is preparing for us.

This is necessary to ensure that the new dimensions that The Lord is bringing our way would not break our system. Indeed, we can only fully take advantage of the new doors that the Lord will open unto us when we come in fully prepared. The Lord is admonishing us, not to put new wine into old wineskins skin. We risk losing both. New opportunities to an unprepared generation leads to wasted efforts.

As we wait on God today, our prayer is that the Lord would prepare us fully, so that we might be able to fully utilise the new opportunities and favours that He gives us. The wine is precious and the wine skin is precious. May the Lord prepare you thoroughly to fully occupy you new dimensions.

Prophetic Prayer Points:

#Spirit:

Father in the name of Jesus, please forgive me. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence. Restore unto me the joy of your salvation (Psalm 51:10-12). Fill me with your Holy Spirit.

Anoint me one more time! Holy Spirit anoint me with fresh oil. Activate Your gifts and power in my life now, in the mighty name of Jesus!

#Soul:

Father, I acknowledge that You are the only person able to save my soul from destruction.

As I cry out to You, save my soul. When the billows roar and roll over me; stretch forth Your hand and save me. Don’t allow the wicked one to exact upon me. Save my soul in the name of Jesus Christ!

Oh God, calm my soul; when I am disquieted. Sustain me in times of trouble in the name of Jesus Christ!

#Body:

In the name of Jesus Christ, my body is the temple of God. He dwells in me by His Spirit.

He quickens my mortal body by His Spirit. So I shall not be sick nor weak. Any evil power seeking to make me sick is rebuked in the name of Jesus Christ!

Dear God, heal my body!  Quicken my body! Let Your word be healing to my flesh, my bones and my marrow (Proverbs 4:22).

#Network:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I lift up a banner of prayer and the blood over my spouse, over my children, over my associates, and over my entire household.

I declare that no evil shall come near them. They will dwell under the shadow of the almighty.

Oh God, keep them safe and help them in the day of need. Oh God, keep them safe at home and in the street. When my children step out to play, let them be safe.

I pray for a restoration of lost destiny and relationships in Jesus’ name!

#Work:

Father, bless my hands and the works of my hand. Bless and enlarge the business of my life.

Empower me for exploits, enlarge my vision, strengthen my mind, and extend my reach!

Lord, give me wisdom to brand. Help me to define my niche, and give me favour before those who do business with me.

I will never be lost in a crowd. My light shall rise from obscurity. Even my darkness shall be as the noon. I shall be as a city set on a hill. I will shine and my light will not go out in Jesus’ name!

Show me Your ways. Let me know Your purposes and give me grace to run with them, in the name of Jesus!

#Dominion:

Lord I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in accusation, I shall condemn, in the name of Jesus!
